What is the entryway to a Jaunting Car?

Each Jaunting Car provides a couple of steps up to the main carriage by way of entry. These steps are similar to steps you will find on a coach or bus.

Are they wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, due to the strict sizing regulations of the Jaunting Cars in relation to operating in a protected area, the Cars are currently not wheelchair accessible.

How many people can a Jaunting Car hold comfortably?

A Jaunting Car can hold between 4 – 10 people depending on the type of Car.

Are the Jaunting Cars comfortable?

The Jaunting Cars are designed to provide our guests with maximum comfort with the inclusion of leather cushioned seats and traditional Irish throws.

Are the Jaunting Cars weather-proof?

Yes, all our Jaunting Cars have a covered shelter to protect our guests from the elements.

Bookings

Are the Tours weather dependent?

All bookings go ahead despite very bad weather, unless we deem it unsafe (in the case of red warning status), in which case you will be entitled to a full refund.

What do I need to bring with me as proof of my booking?

We will except a printed copy of your ticket and or a copy of your e-ticket on your phone or tablet as proof of your booking. Admission to the Tour will not be permitted if you do not have either of these two ticket solutions.

How far in advance of my booking should I arrive?

You should arrive at the departure point at least ten minutes ahead of your scheduled departure time.

Do I need to pre-book tickets or can I buy tickets on arrival?

Pre-booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment as our Tours are very popular particularly in the high season with many Tour times being booked out well in advance.

Do your Tours run all year around?

Many of our Tours operate all year around. Please see the section on each specific Tour for the answer to your question.

From Park To Castle Jaunting Car Tour

What should I bring with me?

You will be advised to bring the following items with you for the Tour:
– The confirmation email on your mobile phone or printed proof of your booking.
– A camera is advised to capture the amazing scenery of the National Park and Ross Castle.
– It is advisable to dress appropriately for the weather on the day. Blankets are supplied to all passengers on the Jaunting Cars.

What activity level is required?

A short walk around the grounds of Ross Castle is optional.

This Tour is suitable for families, (including children of all ages), groups, couples and singles.

What does the Tour include?

This Tour includes a Jaunting Car Tour with a local Tour Guide/ Jarvey and a short stopover in Ross Castle.

This Tour’s locations cover the Killarney National Park and Ross Castle.

Does the Tour run all year around?

Yes, this Tour operates all year around, excluding the 25th & the 26th of December.

How long is the Tour?

This Tour lasts 50 minutes.

What are the times of the Tour?

In the high season, between the months of April to October, this Tour runs at 8.00am/ 11.00am/ 12.00pm/ 1.15pm/ 1.45pm and 5.15pm daily.
In the low season, between the months of November to March the Tour runs at 8.00am/ 11.00am/ 12.00pm/ 1.15pm/1.45pm and 3.15pm.

This Tour finishes at the same place of departure, the Great Southern Hotel, opposite the Killarney Railway Station and Outlet Shopping Centre – V93 R866.

Where does the Tour depart from?

This Tour departs from the Great Southern Hotel, formally known as the Malton Hotel, opposite the Killarney Railway Station and Outlet Shopping Centre -V93 R866.

Jaunting Car & Lake Cruise Combo

Is it common to get seasickness aboard the Watercoach?

No, it is extremely uncommon to get seasickness onboard the Lily of Killarney Watercoach as the Tour is operated inland, where the lake remains relatively calm all year around.

Do you serve food or drink onboard the Watercoach?

No, we do not serve food or drink onboard, however we do allow the carry-on of soft drinks by our guests, if they so wish, from the nearby shop at Ross Castle. Food is not permitted. (Both food & drink are however permitted on corporate or private sailings.)

Is there Wi-Fi available on board the Watercoach?

Yes, there is Wi-Fi available on board and you will be supplied with a code on arrival.

Is the Watercoach accessible for wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, due to the strict sizing regulations of the vessel in relation to operating in a protected area, the Watercoach is currently not wheelchair accessible.

Are there toilet facilities onboard the Watercoach?

Yes, there is a small unisex toilet available onboard.

This Tour operates daily in the high season, between the months of April to October, at 12.00pm and 12.45pm daily.

Where does the Tour depart from and finish?

This Tour can be done with the Jaunting Car Tour first followed by the Lake Cruise or vice versa depending on which option you choose.

The departure and finish locations for each option is Ross Castle – V93 V304.

If you booked Option 1 and 3, you will take the Jaunting Car Tour first followed by the Lake Cruise.

-If you booked Option 2 and 4, you will take the Lily of Killarney Lake Cruise first followed by the Jaunting Car Tour.

Gap of Dunloe Adventure Tour

What should I bring with me?

You will be advised to bring the following items with you for the Tour:
– The confirmation email on your mobile phone or printed proof of your booking.
– A camera is advised to capture the amazing scenery of the Gap of Dunloe and the Lakes of Killarney.
– It is advisable to dress appropriately for the weather on the day as well as wear appropriate footwear. Rainwear is recommended if the conditions are wet as this Tour is open to the elements. Sun cream and sunhats are advisable in warm Summer conditions.

What activity level is required?

A short 5-minute walk in between locations is required.

Who is the Tour suitable for?

This Tour is suitable for groups, couples and singles.

What does the Tour include?

This Tour includes a chauffeur drive to the Gap of Dunloe, a Traditional Pony & Trap Ride with local Driver/ Jarvey, stopover for Lunch at Lord Brandon’s Cottage, (not included in price) and an Open Boat Ride with local Captain/ Guide.

What locations does the Tour cover?

This Tour’s locations cover the Gap of Dunloe, Lord Brandon’s Cottage, the Black Valley and the Lakes of Killarney.

Does the Tour run all year around?

No, this Tour operates between the months of March to October only, however corporate or private tours for large groups are available.

Where does the Tour depart from?

This Tour departs from the Ross Castle – V93 V304, where you will meet your Tour Representative at the Wooden Bridge. You will then be chauffeur driven to the Gap of Dunloe for the Pony & Trap Ride, followed by the Open Boat Tour, however the Tour can also be done in reverse.

Cancellation & Refunds

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Our cancellation policy is very simple.

In the case of a complete no show with no prior notification, or if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours before the tour start time, the party is not entitled to any refund.

If the booking is cancelled within 24-48 hours prior to the tour start time, then the party is entitled to a 25% refund of the tour cost.

If the booking is cancelled within 2-4 days prior to the tour start date, then the party is entitled to a 50% refund of the tour cost.

If the booking is cancelled within 5-6 days prior to the tour start date, then the party is entitled to a 75% refund of the tour cost.

If the booking is cancelled within 7 days or more prior to the tour start date, then the party is entitled to a full refund – however there will be a 5% refund charge on the party’s card.
