Outstanding Pony & Trap Tour of the Gap of Dunloe! Outstanding! Our tour guide and his horse were so nice and friendly. The Gap of Dunloe has scenery that reminds you of a wonderful painting. It's just beautiful. Seeing it quiet and calm with a horse made it so special. I highly recommend this experience.

Family trip to Gap of Dunloe Took my wife and 2 kids (17 and 24 yrs old). We took the boat ride from Killarney at Ross Castle and picked up the horses half way at Lord Brandon’s cottage. It was a beautiful day. Cathal was our guide on the boat. He was great, very knowledgeable. Very friendly. Was the most beautiful ride through the lakes and the mountains. One of the most beautiful sceneries. Patrick picked us up at the cottage and we did the horse buggy ride down. My wife recently fractured her foot and they were so attentive to make sure she was okay and comfortable. Amazing scenery, some of the most beautiful sights. Would highly recommend this to any one of any age!!

What a ride it has been! Definitely one of our fav experiences in Ireland so far! Well organized from start to finish, stunning views and suitable for a 2 year old child too. Our daughter slept almost the entire pony ride while we were enjoying the knowledge of our guide and the skills with the horses by himself and his son. Our guide for the boat ride was extremely funny and knew the lakes by heart. Would recommend this experience to everyone!

What an amazing experience, from the quick van shuttle ride from the Ross Castle to the entrance of the Gap of Dunloe on riding the cart thru a very surreal area in Ireland. Lunch break was at a nice area with food and beverages, then we jumped into the boat with a very energetic and informative guide along with his two cast-aways, Bob and Marley who made the trip even more memorable. The weather for us was perfect, and no rain. I would highly recommend doing this Cart and Boat tour to really get into Ireland rather than see it from a bus or car.

Highlight Of Our Vacation! This The Gap of Dunloe Adventure & Lakes of Killarney Day Tour was the highlight of our 10 day vacation! It was run very well from the first point of contact at at Ross Castle wooden bridge. I do not know the name of our Jaunting Car driver, but his horse was Mickey Mouse. He talked "Horse" language to Mickey Mouse the whole ride. Excellent day! Next we boarded a boat with Rory! Rory was an excellent guide with lots of knowledge about the lakes, rivers and wildlife! Very fun day with Killarney Jaunting Cars and their Gap of Dunloe Adventure & Lakes of Killarney Day Tour!!

Flawless and Fun I can't say enough about the company. From the moment I began making inquiries, everyone was helpful, patient and thorough, especially Laura. We had a party of 9 who needed different tours, 5 of us across the Gap and over the lakes, and 4 who merely wished to go up the Gap and back from Kate Kearney's cottage. Communication was flawless. Everyone was waiting for us just as promised- since the first party had 3 separate guides. All were knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. The tours were comfortable, safe and exciting. The Gap is a place you don't want to miss, and if you can see it with Killarney Jaunting Cars.

It was an amazing way to experience the national park when you don't have enough time to walk through it all since the national park is so big. Our tour guide answered all of our questions, cracked some funny jokes, and even stopped the tour a few times to be sure we got the best photos. It was so lovely and highly recommend!

Great Day at the Gap of Dunloe The Gap of Dunloe Adventure Day Tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. It was a wonderful way to see the Lakes of Killarney, the Black Valley and the beautiful mountains. Our tour started at the wooden bridge near Ross Castle where we met a tour representative. The bridge is located next to a parking lot with ample free parking. The first part of the adventure was a boat trip through one of the lakes of Killarney. The boatman was knowledgeable and humorous. At the end of that lake we met another tour representative who directed us on a brief hike to meet the boat for the next part of the tour. It was nice to have the opportunity to stretch our legs and see another part of Killarney National Park. After another scenic boat ride we had a lunch break at Lord Brandon's cottage, We enjoyed our sandwiches and sodas= cash only. A tour representative directed us to our pony and trap jaunting cart. It was a fun and unique experience with beautiful views the whole way. A tour representative met us at Kate Kearney;s cottage and drove us back to Ross Castle in a mini van. I was very pleased with the customer service provided by Tangney Tours/ Killarney Jaunting Cars. The tour was seamless. There was always a tour representative near when you needed to be directed to the next step of the tour. I chose this tour because it was all inclusive and the tour brought you back to where your car was parked. Highly recommend this tour and the company.

Great Way To See Killarney I opted for the full day Gap of Dunloe Adventure Tour. Laura, the fifth generation owner of the company, met the group at Ross Castle and provided an overview of what to expect on the tour. From there, a taxi took us to Kate Kearney’s Cottage, where our jarvey Tom and his horse Rosie took us by jaunting car over The Gap of Dunloe. We had to get off the jaunting car a couple of times during the steep incline sections to give Rosie a break. This was fine because it made it easier to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. When we finished crossing the gap and arrived at Lord Brandon’s Cottage, we took a lunch break. If you take this tour, remember to bring cash because they don’t accept credit cards at the cottage. After lunch, we started the second part of our tour, a trip across all three Killarney Lakes aboard a small open boat to enjoy more glorious scenery. We also saw deer on shore along the way. Our guide—unfortunately, I don’t recall his name—regaled us with information about the lakes and entertaining stories laced with humor and a generous amount of Killarney blarney. At one point, we had to exit the boat and walk across a forest path to meet our guide at a later point because a portion of the lake was to shallow to ride across with passengers. We then get back on board the boat and finished the trip, which ended at the Ross Castle pier. This is a wonderful way to see the best of Killarney scenery from two different vantage points. I highly recommend it, though, as the company website says, it’s not for anyone with mobility issues.

Worthy of your time Worthy of your time! This tour was the highlight of our recent vacation to Ireland. The Gap of Dunloe is one of the prettiest places I've ever seen. The tour was well done, we had different guides for the horse carriage part and the boat part -- they could not have been more opposite but were both amusing and informative in their own ways.

True Irish Experience This is by far the best and most experienced company to book when touring the Gap, the National Park, etc. by jaunting cart. The service, knowledge, jarveys (drivers) all combine to make an exceptional day in Killarney! This tour is always the best part of a trip to Killarney. Fifth generation family business says it all! Great scenery on oldest trip in Ireland! This was great. We met at Ross Castle and were taken by van to meet our haunting car. Bernie and his horse Brodie then took us 7 miles through the Gap of Dunloe. The scenery was beautiful. There were lots of stops for pictures and you could walk for parts of the trip. We stopped and had lunch and then transferred to our boat for the hour trip back to Ross Castle. We enjoyed it - worth doing!

We had a fabulous day with Tangney Tours. Laura is the best and provided us with a fabulous day with the jaunting car through the Gap of Dunloe, lunch and a boat tour of Killarney lakes winding up at Muckross Castle. It seriously could not have been more perfect. Knowledgeable guides for both the jaunting car and the boat trip, and we were lucky to have an incredible weather for the entire day. Just a lovely day!

An incredible experience! What can I say?! Absolutely fantastic from start to finish! From the two women who took us in their car to the Jaunty Cars... they were so kind and brilliant to listen to. Myself and the two American women were spellbound by the views when we got on the jaunty cars. Our driver, a young lad called Sean, was very informative and passionate about what he was doing. He answered our questions and educated us about life in these remote parts. Our horse Paddy was very well behaved and we got out when he needed a little rest, which we were only happy to do. Fair play to Sean for being a master at handling Paddy. When we arrived in Killarney National Park, we had opportunity to eat something delicious from the menu. Visitors be aware that it was cash only. The size portions are very generous and the vegetable soup was delicious! On the final part of our journey, we got into the motor boat with the highly entertaining and all-round brilliant guide - Dux! Dux brought his beautiful dogs Bob and Marley for the trip. They were so friendly and only added to the experience. Dux made us laugh from the moment we hopped on the boat. His knowledge of the lakes and mountains are incontrovertible - he is an incredible guide! I’d easily return to hear it all again with more people. First time in The Kingdom, but you’ve made this Cavan man realise that it won’t be his last. Thank you!

A great day out We recently used Killarney Jaunting Cars while in Killarney. We done the Gap of Dunloe and Lakes of Killarney trip. From booking the trip to the trip itself we were looked after with exceptional care, especially in these strange times. We had two jaunting cars each of which were driven expertly through the beautiful Gap by Pat & Mary. They were both full of stories and genial banter on our journey. On the return trip through the three amazing Lakes of Killarney Dux was our pilot. He’s a genuinely lovely guy who put our nervous youngest totally at ease. A big thank you to Laura & Michael Tangney for putting this great day out together for us. Great memories were made on the day. We will definitely do this trip again in the future.

Had a great trip to Ross Castle Had a great trip to Ross Castle with Michael. Before we started he wiped the jaunting car with disinfectant, and had hand sanitizer in the door of the cab which he insisted we use.The trip took c.25 mins (Each way) to the castle and along the way he was full of tall tales and fishy stories that the kids loved, definitely worth a try with kids.

Fantastic way to artificially inflate your step count for the day We loved it! We met at Ross Castle for a short bus ride to Kate Kearney's place, where we boarded our four-person pony-and-traps for the ride up the mountain. So beautiful, and our driver/guide, Michael, was so interesting! He knew the area so well because he lived there (we passed his house). We stopped for a quick soup-and-sandwich lunch at the little cafe in Killarney National Park, and then took a fun boat ride back across the lakes to Ross Castle. Our driver/guide, Robert, pointed out some cool sights, and took great care of us on the rainy, windy day. (By the way, both the bouncing in the trap and on the boat are what gave us extra "steps" on our machines!) The only sad note was that we didn't realize Ross Castle tours were guided-only and we hadn't made a reservation and it was too late in the day for 6 of us to take one.

Jaunting Experience We were promptly picked up at the Ross castle and taken to the start of our Jaunty cart ride. The ride in the Jaunty cart through the Gap of Dunloe was fun and gave you an up close scenic view of the surrounding area. The boat ride on the way back was also very scenic and fun, just make sure you wear your water proof clothing - you will get wet but worth the experience. All Weather Tour We started our tour backwards on the boat. It was lovely. By the time we got to the carriage it began to rain a bit (no biggie they have a tarp). As we made our way up and through the Gap the rain picked up and the wind really picked up but Mickey Mouse kept on trucking. Our guide was very sweet and stopped a few places for good photos. Overall would highly recommend.

Great Trip This is by far the best way to see the lakes and the Gap of Dunloe. Our boat trip was a bit of an adventure due to the low lake levels caused by the recent drought. Everyone had to get out at one point and walk, while myself and a couple of others on the tour had to drag the boat through the rock exposed river until the water was deep enough for everyone to get back in the boat. I guess it was all part of the adventure. The pony & trap portion of the tour was the best part. Our guide, Taylor, was extremely friendly and knowledgable. It felt like we were hanging out for a couple of hours with an old friend. The scenery on the lakes and the Gap of Dunloe is stunning. I highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful day trip! I wasn’t sure about taking a 5-hour tour, but my family absolutely loved our trip and are so glad hat we went! We met the Tangney tours rep at a Ross Castle, which was easy to find and had plenty of parking. We then were transferred to Kate Kearney’s Cottage where our adventure began. Our friendly jarvey, Dan, and his horse, Charlie, led us through the stunning Gap of Dunloe in a fun jaunting car ride. The scenery is truly majestic. I do wish the roads were only open to local car traffic and not to tourist drivers, because the cars do detract from the scenery, but I digress. It’s a lovely journey. Not to be missed, however you manage to see it. We stopped at Lord Brandon’s Cottage for lunch, then boarded great low, open boats to head back through the Killarney lakes back to Ross Castle. It was a beautiful boat ride and our driver knew so much about the local history, flora and fauna. We did have to get out of the jaunting cars to walk in a section where it’s very steep for the horses, and also from the boats because the water was so low in places, so just be aware if you have any mobility issues. We had a wonderful day and it was all very well organized. Highly recommend. (And we still had time to see Ross Castle and The glorious Muckross Abbey afterward!)

Definitely An Experience You'll Never Forget Took a ride with my sister in May. It was rainy, but honestly, it adds to the magic a little. I would totally have a wedding at the Gap of Dunloe someday. We had a little bit of confusion getting started (My sister and I are both hard of hearing, so trying to understand the initial guide was a bit of a challenge. To the first lady we spoke to, sorry I couldn't understand you.), but after that it was smooth sailing. Walked up to one of the young horsemen (wish I caught his name) and asked how exactly the pick up works, and he was extremely nice and helpful. Something about this guy makes you want to be friends with him. Ended up not being in his carriage, but in the one right behind it. After explaining to the incredibly nice driver about the hearing issue, he definitely made an effort that my sister and I understood him. There truly is nothing like this ride. Absolutely stunning ride up, especially by the wishing bridge. If you're worried about how the horses are treated, don't be. We had a very informative talk with our driver afterwards, and believe me, they take excellent care of their animals. The driver even let us pet the horse ourselves. Her name was Daisy and she likes to snuggle. hehe. I must say, all the drivers must be in excellent shape, since they are running uphill with the horses at several steep turns.

Out of a postcard! Was the best tour of our entire trip! And we seen many castles & numerous sites along our route! From the boat ride through the lakes to the jaunting car ride down the gap with our horse, Lily! Definitely a trip I’ll never forget! Highly recommended tour!

Unforgettable Trip through the Gap of Dunloe We had such an amazing day trip through the Gap of Dunloe via pony and trap and the lakes of Killarney National Park via boat. Laura picked us up at our hotel and transferred us to Kate Kearney's cottage where we began our tour. Laura was kind enough to arrange for my husband and I to have a private pony and trap ride - normally it is four persons to a carriage. We also lucked out with the weather as there had been a lot of rain the day before our trip. While it was cloudy/overcast for the majority of our tour, the sun did eventually come out when we were in the boat, and the upside about the previous day's rain was that there were tons of little waterfalls streaming down the hills throughout the valleys. Our pony and trap driver Joe was very friendly and pointed out the major sites as well as the good places to snap a photo. We have so many beautiful photos! We very much enjoyed this portion of the tour and will not forget how special it was to cross through the Gap of Dunloe via pony and trap! Patrick was the driver of our boat and was quite the character! He certainly was very entertaining, as were the rest of the guests on the boat! And I can't forget Sam the dog who was sleeping quite contently most of the ride. Note that we went on this tour over the Labor day weekend. I think that this time of year is a great time to go because the weather is not too cool and there are no crowds!Overall, this tour was our most memorable thing that we did during our brief trip to Ireland. I highly recommend that you book this tour - you won't regret it!

Incredible We (a group of 4) did the full day Gap of Dunloe tour. All I can say as it was incredible. We took a horse and buggy (small buggy) up through the Gap in Killarney national park. Ben was our guide and he was great! The park has most breathtaking views!!! We went down into the Black Valley where the horse trip ended. Then we got onto open boats and travelled the 3 lakes of Killarney and ended at beautiful Ross Castle. I don't know if many people do the Gap tour because it's about 5 hours but it is well worth it. The scenery was majestic, guide fantastic and the driver (who drove us from Ross castle to the departure spot) was fun! One of the best tours of I've ever taken!

Gap of Dunloe Tour - Amazing w/ great staff who went above and beyond Even before I left for Ireland, this company was willing to make this trip work for me with my difficult itinerary. When I got to Killarney and was dropped off in an unexpected place, their company actually came to pick me and my daughter up from a different place and took us up to the starting point for our waiting pony and trap. The tour itself - Incredible. I can't even describe the beauty of Killarney National Park, and going up the Gap of Dunloe on horse?? An experience you MUST have. The second part of the tour (after you're dropped off for a lunch break) is via boat, and that part too was so wonderful. You get to see the park from above and below. SO MANY opportunities for photos. Because the timing was off, a staff member even met my daughter and I at the castle and took us back to our bus stop, and recommended a place to shop and hang out while we waited. You can't put a price tag on that kind of customer service, folks. I cannot recommend this company enough. Every business should care about their customers as much as they do.

AMAZING! Trip through The Gap of Dunloe This is a must do adventure! The Gap of Dunloe on horse drawn trap is a special way to see this natural wonder! It was followed with a small open boat across the Lakes of Killarney and it made for a special day! Unique and amazing!

Best way to see the Gap of Dunloe I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. We booked in advance in the USA and got a great rate to do a cart and boat combo tour of the Gap of Dunloe. Daniel kindly came and picked us up at our hotel and dropped us at Kate Kearney's Cottage where we met our Cart. Our card driver was good craic and our horse Rosie was a pro! It felt amazing to be seeing the sights in an authentic Irish way. We had lunch break at Lord Bromleys Cottage and then caught our boat to go across the Lakes and Rivers. The Incredible guide was so funny and knowledgable and was a privilege to ride with the beautiful sweet cocker spaniel who seemed to be the boat mascot. Every person in this Company we encountered was kind and HAPPY it's obvious that they love what they do at Killarney Jaunting Cars Tangney Tours. At the end of the boat ride we landed at Ross castle where Daniel met us at the shore and drove us back to our hotel. It was an incredible way to see the Gap of Dunloe and I highly recommend it. Be warned there is a bit of walking involved in the cart tour up some steep inclines that the horse can't manage with a full cart, but if you can manage the 10-15 min walk it's a very rewarding experience. Worth every penny and the absolute best tour going in Killarney in my opinion. You can be sure I will be bringing my family back to Killarney Jaunting Cars Tangey Tours in the future when we come back to Ireland for vacation.

Breathtaking views Take the Gap of Dunloe cart tour with the boat through the three lakes. You will not regret it. The views are spectacular and breathtaking, really glorious to be part of. I love how we, as the human visitors, have to work around nature instead of nature working around us, as it should be. Guides are true locals and know the area like the back of their hands. Highly recommended.

great thing to do we loved this... we had Ger the driver. I would suggest you look for him as he is a talented musician who will serenade you on his whistle.
