Killarney House & Gardens

Situated amidst the cosmopolitan landscape of Killarney Town centre lies an oasis of calm in the form of the Killarney House and Gardens. The residence, which dates back to the 18th century was the former home of the McShain Family and the Earls of Kenmare before them, was restored and reopened in 2016 much to the public’s delight. Its cherry blossom tree-lined avenues and perfectly manicured lawns offer the most magnificent views of the MacGillicuddy Reeks as well as the perfect starting point for a longer walk into the adjoining National Park.

Accessible through its statuesque Golden Gates in the centre of town as well as its side entrance on mission road, the gardens are the perfect place for a little lunch-time ramble or time out to procrastinate on a park bench. Tours of the restored house are also available in the high season.
